Smells Like Alt Rock

Thought we'd throw together a couple of special playlists for this Valentine's Day.  And we've got two options for you - the first one is for all the lovers out there, we threw together some emotional ballads like Falls On Me by Fuel, Just Breath by Pearl Jam, Turn My Head by Live, and The Knight Train by Those Damn Crows.  We also grabbed some songs that are, well, forward about their passions like I Really Wanna by Mammoth, Shake Me Like Monkey by Dave Matthews Band, Take Me To Church by Hozier and Masochistic Lover by Sawyer Hill.  So all you lovers out there - click here .  And if that's the wrong vibe - we've got the opposite playlist for you too. I know a lot of folks don't start playing Christmas music until after Thanksgiving, but some great, rock holiday songs dropped recently. They were easy adds to our Alt Rock Christmas playlist.   If you are looking to rock your holiday hard - check out Skillet's "O Come O Come Emmanuel." They released two versions of this one - a harder version - as seen/heard in the video below:  And a lighter version, which we added to the Alt Rock Christmas playlist, which you can check out here: Skillet isn't the only rock band dropping holiday tunes. Good Charlotte also dropped a fresh holiday cover, with their take on "Fairytale of New York". It's frankly pretty remarkable how many of the pop-punk / emo bands of the early 2000's have release Christmas tracks - it certainly makes it easy to have robust list of rock Christmas songs. Last night delivered the first snowfall of the "winter" - the compromise in our house is that Christmas music can be played either after Thanksgiving or after the first snowfall that sticks. The snow started around 9 pm last night, and there was enough snow for the kiddos to build a snowman after breakfast today.  So if your household is ready for Christmas music but you're looking for a list with a little more kick than your typical Christmas playlist; we've got just what you're looking for.  Filled with bands you know like Shinedown, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Fuel, Weezer, Eva Under Fire, Theory of Deadman, Fall Out Boy, and many more.
